Supported Social Announcement Feeds

The Modr8 engine supports social integrations that will announce new posts into your chat when they are made in near real-time. At present the following are supported:

  • Twitter/X.com

  • Zendesk

  • YouTube

  • Medium

  • RSS

  • Twitch

We are actively adding further integrations, if you have any other social platforms you would like to see drop us a message in the feature ideas community topic on Telegram.

Connecting Twitter / X Announcements

Our twitter/x.com integration will check for new tweets on accounts every few seconds.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link Twitter" on the Twitter card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add the Twitter/X.com username you wish to follow, this is done without the @ i.e @ImTheDeveloper should be added as ImTheDeveloper

  7. Elect to enable showing retweets by toggling the "Display Retweets" option

  8. Elect to enable showing quoted tweets by toggling the "Display Quoted Tweets" option

  9. Elect to enable showing replies to tweets by toggling the "Display Reply To Tweets" option

  10. You can remove the last tweet issued by this announcement by enabling the "Remove Last Message" option

  11. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for new tweets.

  12. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!

Connecting Zendesk Announcements

Use the Modr8 Zendesk announcements integration to post announcements into your chat when a new article is released on your Zendesk instance.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link Zendesk" on the Zendesk card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add the Zendesk Article API EndPoint into the input text box. The format of the EndPoint is typically: https://xxxx/api/v2/help_center/lang-code/articles.json you will need to replace xxxx with the domain.

  7. Elect to enable the "Remove Last Message" to ensure only the newest Zendesk announcement is shown if you do not want too many announcements in your chat

  8. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for new Zendesk articles being published.

  9. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!

Connecting YouTube Announcements

If you want to publish the moment a new YouTube video is added to a channel you can use the Modr8 YouTube Announcements module.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link YouTube" on the Youtube card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add a Channel ID to the "Channel ID" input field. This can be found by following the instructions on screen or using a service like: https://commentpicker.com/youtube-channel-id.php the ID is not the username, as these can change.

  7. Elect to enable "Pin Announcement" if you wish new videos to be pinned as they are posted

  8. Elect to enable the "Remove Last Message" to ensure only the newest Youtube announcement is shown if you do not want too many announcements in your chat

  9. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for new Youtube Videos being published.

  10. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!

Connecting Medium Blog Announcements

With our social announcements you are able to post a new announcement to your chat when a medium profile has a new blog published to its profile.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link Medium" on the Medium card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add the "Medium Blog Username" to the input field. This is the end part of the web address used for the blog.

  7. Elect to enable the "Remove Last Message" to ensure only the newest Medium blog announcement is shown if you do not want too many announcements in your chat

  8. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for new Medium blog posts being published.

  9. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!

Connecting RSS Feed Announcements

Modr8 engine suports posting announcements based on RSS feeds. This is a very versatile option as most blogs and websites have some sort of RSS feed you can use. If not, there are even websites available that will convert standard sites into RSS feeds for you.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link RSS Feed" on the RSS Feed card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add the "RSS Feed Endpoint" to the input field. This may be a web address ending in /feed/ or some other address that ends in .rss

  7. Elect to enable the "Remove Last Message" to ensure only the newest RSS feed announcement is shown if you do not want too many announcements in your chat

  8. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for new feed posts being published.

  9. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!

Connecting Twitch Stream Announcements

Knowing someone is going online with Twitch can be a great way to grow your gaming or code development community. Modr8 receives real-time updates from twitch to let you know someone has gone online.

  1. Select "Manage" on your bot profile

  2. Select "Announce" on your chat profile

  3. Select "Manage Announcements" button on the "Social Media & Feeds" card.

  4. Select "Link Twitch" on the Twitch Feed card

  5. Add a name for your feed in the "Name" field, this helps to identify it amongst other feeds you may link when wishing to manage your list of announcements.

  6. Add the "Twitch Account Username" to the input field. This will be the username without the @ added to it.

  7. Keep the "Active" toggle enabled if you wish for this feed to be actively searching for users going online.

  8. Click the "Submit" button and you are ready to go!
