Global & Multi-Chat Features

When a small community grows, often you will begin to split it up into multiple chats. These could be regional chats for country specific topics, or even chats related to different areas of your business. Modr8 handles these enterprise setups by allowing you to activate multiple chats with the same bot. The benefit of doing so is that you open up Modr8's "Global" features.
The diagram below shows how global commands, announcements and reputation can be used across all of the bot registered chats.
Whilst your bot can issue a chat level announcement (an announcement that will go just to that chat), once you activate multiple chats your bot can issue "Bot Announcements". When a bot announcement is sent, a copy of it is issued out to all active chats the bot is in. This feature is great for issuing community wide information, maybe an offer, maybe an important service announcement or ongoing messaging.
To learn how to issue global announcements check out our dedicated guide here.
Your Modr8 powered bot comes with a set of standard moderation commands. These are great for issuing warnings, banning users, kicking users and muting. What if you wanted to globally ban a particular user from all of your managed chats? That may normally be quite painful, but with Modr8 you can utilise our list of "Global commands" to ensure the same action is taken across all of your chats.
The table below lists the global commands available, if one is issued in any of your activated chats, it will apply to all of your bots chats.
/gban
Globally ban a user from all chats associated with your bot. They are unable to enter any of your chats.
/gunban
Globally remove a ban from a user to ensure they can re-enter the chat.
/gkick
Globally remove a user from your chats, they can re-join after 30 seconds.
/gwarn
Issue a warning which is recorded against a user in all of the chats your bot manages. This may trigger additional actions dependent on the chats individual settings.
/gwhitelist
Ensure a user bypasses all of your standard bot filters by adding them to the global trust list

If your chat is running the community reputation module, you may wish to combine the reputation a user has gained from other chats your bot manages. This is a very useful feature if you wish to ensure they are rewarded for participating across your overall community rather than just a single chat.
Each of your chats can choose whether they wish to show global reputation or just local reputation rankings. To enable this feature enable it in the community reputation settings for the chat.
